Sent for Review by Influenster
Marc Jacobs Beauty is on the pricier side of the beauty industry, so when Influenster sent me the Beauty Dew Drops Coconut Gel Highlighter for review purpose, I was really happy. Because;
Firstly, I adore the chic packaging of this brand.
Secondly, I love their eye liners and lipsticks.
So I had high hopes before starting the review process of the Coconut Gel highlighter. Did it impress me? Keep on reading!
WHAT THE BRAND HAS TO SAY:
Give your highlight a dose of skincare. Inspired by Marc Jacobs’ love of coconut water and the glow of youthful-looking, radiant, well-hydrated skin, this gel-cream instantly lights up the complexion. Directly highlight skin or blend this concentrated luminizer with foundation and primer to transform them into illuminating elixirs. A little goes a long way: This gel highlighter builds for the ultimate sheen, and the sensual, golden-peach hue flatters all skin tones with warm radiance. It’s formulated with five forms of coconut and provitamin B5 to help hydrate and nourish skin.
PRICE & AVAILABILITY:
Retails for $44 and can be found online here.
As I said in the beginning of the article, I love how Marc Jacobs Beauty does its packaging. It gives a clean and modern vibe. The Beauty Dew Drops Coconut Gel Highlighter comes is a glass jar with pump. The pump makes it both easy & sanitary to use the product. As it’s a glass bottle, I would suggest to squirt a little in a small portable container if you want to travel with this product.
MY THOUGHTS & SWATCH:
A little, indeed, goes a long way for this highlighter. As you will see from my swatches, the product is concentrated and intense. You can easily tone it down for a subtle dewiness or full-on-eye-blinding-shine.
- A: Use it with your skincare product
- B: Mix it with your primer
- C: Use as a base for your powder highlighter OR
- D: Use as an highlighter by itself.
Formulation wise, the product is not too liquidy or doesn’t feel like a goopy oil. It’s like a gel or thick cream with a mild coconut smell.
Color wise, it’s a light-medium gold with a hint of peach. When you blend the color out sheerly, it doesn’t look too warm or golden, rather a beautiful sheen.
The product stayed put for almost 6-7 hours on my combination skin. You can apply it with your fingers, brush or your sponge.
- You will need the tiniest amount for a full face highlight.
- The color will look pretty on every skin tone, warm or cool.
- The product itself is pretty long lasting considering it’s a gel-cream formula.
- You can build up the product without any patchiness.
Comes in a glass container.
IN A NUTSHELL:
Despite the price tag, I recommend this product because you get a lot of product for your money and the product itself is pretty impressive. Two thumbs up!
