Cosmetics companies are constantly coming out with new, innovative products for us to try out. Improved formulation, packaging, ease of application- these are the main sectors I am noticing development day by day. Stila Cosmetics launched something innovative last year which is called “Got Inked Cushion Eye Liner“. I planned to review and swatch these after I bought these last year but the pregnancy, health and workload somehow buried these beauties into the back drawer.
Anyway, I recently used it on one of my tutorials and I was seriously impressed! You can watch the demonstration on my video: Red Lips with Glasses.
WHAT THE BRAND HAS TO SAY:
Here is what Stila has to say about Got Inked Cushion Eye Liner:
Sweep on tight lines to cat eyes with stila’s Got Inked™ Cushion Eye Liner. A lightweight, yet richly-pigmented liquid liner, color is dispensed through a one-of-a-kind, cushion sponge soaked in color. With a full range of dazzling shades—from flat to metallic finishes—it can be expertly applied with the custom designed La Quill Precision Eye Liner Brush (sold separately), which simply dips into the sponge like a calligraphy pen and draws across the lid in a slow, smooth, fluid motion. From day-to-night, the long-wearing formula stays put, leaving eyes looking effortlessly chic.
PRICE AND AVAILABILITY:
Each product comes in a gold box with respective color on top. The eye liner container is a transparent plastic pot which allows the product to be seen from outside.
There are 6 shades available.
- Black Obsidian Ink
- Garnet Ink
- Smoky Quartz Ink
- Copper Ink
- Blue Sapphire Ink
- Amethyst Ink
Black Obsidian Ink:
As the name suggests, it’s jet black liner.
I like this shade more as an eyeshadow base. Just look at the beautiful rich color! So pretty!
Smoky Quartz Ink:
This is another product that can be used both as liner and eyeshadow.
This is the metallic version of Garnet ink.
Blue Sapphire Ink:
This is a black based jewel toned blue. This is the sheerest one of the collection.
This is a rich jewel toned black based dark purple.
- Glides on very smoothly.
- Color intensity can be built up.
- You can definitely make a thick or thin liner shape (or whatever shape you are looking for) with these. You just need a brush.
- Long wearing.
- You can use these as eyeliner, eyeshadow base or even as eyeshadow!
- If you have oily lids, the liner smears a little. This can easily be prevented with an eye primer beforehand.
- You will need to buy a proper eye liner brush for application.
- It will get dried up if you keep the jar open for too long.
IN A NUTSHELL:
Stila Got Inked Cushion Eye Liners have one of the best formulas I have tried so far. Color range and product quality wise Stila cosmetics has done a very good job. Two thumbs up!
