Today’s article is dedicated to all One Direction fans. I am going to review their limited edition Beauty Collection box.
“Created for—and inspired by—fans of the world’s biggest band, this limited-edition beauty collection is fun, bold and a tad mischievous, just like ONE DIRECTION.”
ABOUT THE BRAND:
“A range of makeup and cosmetic products celebrating youth, style, and the uninhibited lifestyle of a new generation. Celebrating life with bold shades, unique formulae and infused with limited edition collectable packaging, Makeup from One Direction is fun, bold, often irreverent, with a touch of cheeky mischievousness. Offered at prices that every girl and woman can afford.”
5 Limited Edition boxes or tins are available featuring each band member. These include 6 eye shadows, 1 eye pencil, 4 lip gloss, 1 lip top coat, 2 nail varnish and 2 little brushes.
These new sets are available at:
Let’s have a closer look, shall we?
The shadows are creamy and the colors can be mixed together & built up for a richer color payoff. I have swiped some of these colors 2-3 times to show the true color.
Nobody Compares– This color is described as “Metallic silver” and yes, the color is true to the claim.
Tell Me A Lie– Described as “Metallic nude pink”. I wouldn’t describe it as “pink”, it looks more Beige to me.
Same Mistakes– Described as “Metallic mint”. A beautiful color.
I Would– Described as “Smokey brown shimmer”. This color is a very dark brown with fine gold glitter. Can be built up to almost black.
Summer Love– Described as “Smokey purple haze”. It looks more like a navy blue on my skin.
Everything About You– Described as “Smokey black shimmer”. This is an interesting color. It looks black on pan but on my skin it gives a green hue….and looks more like a deep dark blackish-green. I am not complaining, I like the shade but I am curious to know if anyone else has faced this too.
I Want– Described as “True matte black”. Truth to be told, it’s not the best black eye pencil I have tried. It’s not smudge-proof and didn’t perform well on my waterline.
The glosses are not overly glossy, rather feels like a rich moisturizing lipstick. The colors look kinda prominent on pans but on my lips they gave a beautiful color.
Loved You First– Described as “Bubble gum pink”
One Thing– Described as “Frosted pink ice”
Irresistible– Described as “Shimmered pearl”
Heart Attack– Described as “Creamy rose shine”
LIP GLOSS TOP COAT:
Over Again– Described as “Silver glitter sparkle”. Don’t get scared of the glitter sparkle part…It looks more like a clear gloss with a nice sheen.
Stole My Heart– Magenta pink shimmer
Alive– Multi-coloured glitter flakes
My Thoughts On The Product:
1. Are you a makeup newbie and just starting your makeup collection? Then this set is perfect for you.
2. Compact, good for travel.
3. The box or tin can be repurposed.
1. Limited edition.
2. Some of the shadows are difficult to blend.
3. The eye pencil doesn’t last very long on waterlines.
IN A NUTSHELL:
A compact set, great for makeup-beginners.
